1.Purpose & Scope

Nova Inc. recognizes that flexible work arrangements can enhance employee productivity, satisfaction, and work-life balance while maintaining the collaboration and culture that drives our business forward. This policy applies to all full-time and part-time employees of Nova Inc. globally.

This policy does not apply to contractors, consultants, or temporary workers unless explicitly stated in their service agreements. Remote work is a privilege, not an entitlement, and may be modified or revoked at the discretion of management based on business needs or performance considerations.

ℹ️This policy supersedes all previous remote work policies, including the COVID-19 Temporary Remote Work Arrangement (2020–2022) and the Hybrid Work Pilot Policy (2023).
2.Definitions
Fully Remote
Employee works 100% outside a Nova office. Must be within an approved country and timezone (UTC-8 to UTC+3).
Hybrid
Employee works partly in a Nova office and partly remotely. Minimum 2 in-office days per week required.
Office-Based
Employee works primarily from a Nova office. Remote exceptions require manager approval and are limited to 5 days per month.
Core Hours
9:00 AM – 3:00 PM in employee's approved timezone, during which availability is mandatory for meetings and collaboration.
3.Eligibility & Arrangements

Eligibility for remote work arrangements is determined by role type, performance record, and manager approval. The following table outlines default arrangements by role:

⚠️Employees on a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) are automatically ineligible for remote arrangements until the PIP is successfully closed. Exceptions require VP-level approval.
4.Work Hours, Availability & Conduct

5.Equipment & Security

Nova Inc. provides all employees with a MacBook Pro or equivalent, external monitor, keyboard, and mouse at no cost. Employees are responsible for returning equipment in good condition upon separation. A $100/month home office stipend is provided for remote employees to cover internet, ergonomic equipment, and workspace needs.

All remote devices must have full-disk encryption enabled, use the company VPN when accessing internal systems, and have Jamf MDM enrolled within 48 hours of setup.
